If the temperature at night gets really cold then you will not be warm enough because being suspended off the ground allows for a draft under the hammock and will at some point make you wish you were home in your nice warm bed.There are several easy fixes for this problem, you can spread out a sleeping bag on top of your hammock or unzip and use the upper/lower of the sleeping bag with the hammock in the middle to stay warm.Another solution is to use a blanket that is large enough to drape over the hammock on both sides to eliminate any draft underneath.Using a hammock when camping also allows you to leave no trace if that is important to you (hopefully it is) and there are hanging kits that will eliminate any potential damage to trees.Backyard design with a hammock in mind.
